Budget and Schedule

Schedule Summary

The schedule for fall includes finishing the project proposal, twelve analyses and ten drawings. As can be seen in figure 7 below the project proposal starts in early September and carries through to December. The figure also demonstrates how earlier on the time estimates were wrong but as time went on the time estimates started to get better and better.

Winter quarter consisted of constructing the overall device and the ordering of parts. As can be seen in below in figure 7 winter consists of ordering the parts, constructing the oven control casing, and wiring the oven heating system together. This work was broken up over the ten weeks of winter quarter. Winter quarter had significant delays in the schedule due to part ordering and ensuring the necessary parts were being ordered.

Budget

The overall budget for parts was set at $1000.00. The overall parts needed for the project will be bought through various hardware stores and online stores. Since the majority of the parts needed for the project will be outsourced the current estimated cost for parts is $731.57. Previously it was estimated that the parts would cost $3563.40. The major costs of this project arise from the need of heating elements and the purchasing of those parts from an outsourced vendor. The budget chart below in Table 1 is broken down into five cost categories. Although there are five categories this project's actual costs only consists of the Parts section as the other parts were created to demonstrate what this project could cost if it was being worked on in a real world work setting. The JCAITI project is sponsored by Boeing.
